ECONOMIC OVERVIEW

Zambia`s economy`s faced challenges from severe drought causing energy and food shortages. But with debt restructuring substantially done, sectors like mining, agriculture, ICT, and tourism are expected to drive growth. Zambia`s economy is driven by its rich in natural resources, including copper, gold, emeralds, and cobalt, with main drivers being agriculture, mining, and tourism. With a growing workforce and improving infrastructure, Zambia has significant potential for economic growth and development. The government has implemented various initiatives to diversify the economy and promote investment, positioning Zambia for a brighter future.



Gross Domestic Product (GDP) estimates for the fourth quarter of 2024 show that the economy grew by 8.6 percent in the fourth quarter of 2023. This represents an increaseof 0.8 percent growth compared to the same quarter in 2023.

These estimates are based on the year-on-year comparison of GDP at constant 2010 prices
